Pottstown Beacon of Hope has received a $40,000 general operating support grant from HealthSpark Foundation. This funding will sustain the organization's life-saving services during summer months, a particularly vulnerable time for individuals without shelter.

The organization noted that as their Permanent Housing and Resource center remains under development, they continue serving as the community's primary resource for people experiencing homelessness. Weekly assistance includes connecting guests with medical care, employment opportunities, family reunification, and stable housing pathways.

According to Executive Director Thomas Niarhos: “This grant helps us prevent a dangerous gap in services. It keeps our caseworker in the field, our guests safe, and our momentum strong as we work toward lasting solutions to homelessness in Pottstown.”

Summer presents heightened risks including extreme heat and severe weather. The grant ensures continuity of care during this critical period while the organization advances toward establishing a permanent facility.

Pottstown Beacon of Hope provides shelter, case management, and partnership-based support helping individuals transition from homelessness to stability. HealthSpark Foundation, a private independent foundation, aims to achieve healthy, equitable communities throughout Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
