New Facility
For years, we’ve learned from guests, community partners, and organizations across the country. Our new bridge-housing and resource center brings those lessons together to create more pathways toward lasting stability for our neighbors.
The Vision
Every design decision has been guided by a simple question: What gives someone the best opportunity to move from crisis to stability? Our center will have 45 individual sleeping rooms and spaces for other organizations to provide services to our guests. PBOH’s goal is to provide and coordinate everything guests need to move forward to independent stability.

Frequently Asked Questions
Pottstown Beacon of Hope's new bridge housing and resource center is being constructed at 601 W. High Street in the Borough of Pottstown, at the corner of W. High Street and Glasgow Street.
This centrally located site will provide easy access to public transportation, healthcare, employment opportunities, and other community resources. The property has received the necessary local land development approvals, and construction will begin following final state permitting.
Our bridge housing program is designed for adults experiencing homelessness who have established ties to the Pottstown community and meet our program requirements.
Because bridge housing is an intensive, goal-oriented program, it is intended for individuals who are ready to work alongside our staff and community partners toward stable housing and greater independence.
For individuals who are not eligible for the program, we will continue to coordinate referrals to partner organizations and other appropriate resources.
The construction of our new center is made possible through a combination of public investment and private philanthropy.
Funding includes support from state and federal sources, foundation partners, businesses, churches, and generous individual donors throughout our community.
Ongoing support remains essential—not only to complete construction, but also to sustain the programs and services that will help guests move toward lasting stability.
The new center will include 45 private guest rooms, providing a safe, dignified place for individuals participating in our bridge housing program.
During periods of extreme cold, we will also maintain emergency weather shelter capacity to ensure our community can respond to urgent seasonal needs. In addition to bridge housing, Pottstown Beacon of Hope will continue operating its seasonal shelter and year-round case management services, allowing us to serve individuals at different points along their journey toward stability.
Our center will be staffed around the clock to provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for guests.
Our team includes case managers, residential staff, kitchen and facilities personnel, administrative staff, and volunteers. Just as importantly, many services will be delivered by trusted community partners—including healthcare providers, behavioral health professionals, employment specialists, housing organizations, and other agencies—who will work alongside our staff on site.
This collaborative approach allows guests to access multiple services in one location while strengthening partnerships across the community.
- Case management
- Housing navigation
- Employment and job readiness
- Physical and behavioral healthcare
- Recovery support
- Legal assistance
- Financial literacy
- Life skills education
- Benefits enrollment
- Educational opportunities
-Faith-based and spiritual support for those who desire it
Specific partnerships will continue to grow as the center develops, allowing us to respond to the changing needs of our guests and our community.
Every guest begins with a comprehensive intake designed to ensure the program is the right fit for their needs.
The process includes:
- Verification of eligibility
- Safety screening
- Assessment by a case manager
- Development of an individualized stability plan
Together, each guest and their case manager establish goals, identify barriers, and develop a practical plan to help move toward stable housing and greater independence.
Whenever possible, we work to connect individuals with the services that best meet their needs.
If someone is not eligible for our bridge housing program, our staff will help identify appropriate alternatives, which may include emergency shelter, detoxification or recovery services, housing resources, or organizations serving their home community.
Our goal is never simply to say "no," but to help connect people with the support that is available.
Our bridge housing program is designed to provide a safe and stable environment for all guests.
If someone requires medical detoxification or a higher level of addiction treatment before entering the program, we will work with our community partners to help connect them with those services.
Recovery is often a journey, and we are committed to helping individuals access the care and support they need while maintaining a safe environment for everyone participating in the program.
Yes.
Guests in our bridge housing program will receive two nutritious meals each day, along with access to healthy snacks and beverages.
Meals also provide an important opportunity to build community, develop routines, and strengthen relationships among guests, volunteers, and staff.
Every guest's journey is different.
Length of stay depends on individual goals, needs, and progress toward stable housing. Throughout their time in the program, guests work closely with their case manager to implement their individualized stability plan and prepare for long-term independence.
Our focus is not simply on how quickly someone leaves, but on helping them leave successfully.
There are many ways to become part of Pottstown Beacon of Hope's work.
Volunteers, community partners, churches, businesses, healthcare providers, and civic organizations all play an important role in helping our guests move toward stability.
Whether you're interested in volunteering, providing professional services, supporting the project financially, or exploring a community partnership, we'd love to hear from you.
Bridge housing provides more than a safe place to sleep. It combines temporary housing with individualized case management and coordinated support services, giving guests the time and resources needed to move toward stable housing and greater independence.
